B>19:00 | No more racing today. The wind stayed around 5/6 knots, and not from stable direction .We now prepare for the opening ceremony at the beach.

16:43 | ok-i have now changed the time to be correct with CET

12:32 | the wind is not stable , the sailors are sent ashore

12:31 | Race 2 started -but immeadiately abandoned !
the wind dropped below the minimum.

11:37 | The wind dropped a little after that race - 10 minutes to warning signal for Race 2

11:31 | 16 min race for the winner -Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (ARG 3) -followed by DEN111, AUS0, POL16, BRA999, POR5

11:30 | at the second windward -ARG 3takes thelead , followed by DEN111 and POL16 , who misjudged his layline!!

11:24 | these 3 sailors have a good lead ovr the rest of the fleet ; but POL16 is now first , from DEN111 and ARG 3.

A short tour in Europe has begun to promote the FWOD;before going home to Australia she will also compete in Round 2 of the Grand Prix World Tour -Sopot,POL, first week of June.

10:51 | 26 competitors have registered -from10 countries representing 3 continents.The fleet may not be big - but it is a quality fleet ; competition will be fierce to ensure a good start to this new world series.

10:46 | welcome from Sines in Portugal. We now have a good internet connection and i hope to be able to keep the info flowing throughout the event.
We have a fantastic beach to sail from , there are some waves , but also a safe launching place 100metres up the beach if the waves get bigger.
AP is down and a windward/leeward course set near to the beach for the first days racing .
