How big can a Formula Windsurfing fleet be? Pretty impressive.
At the 2024 Formula Windsurfing Foil World Championships in Puck, as many as 61 men lined up at the start. The podium was taken by Stanisław Trepczyński, Dominik Lewiński and Michał Maziarka and the regatta was truly unforgettable.
A year later, at the 2025 Formula Windsurfing Foil World Championships in Torbole (9-13 September), the podium was dominated by Frederic Ramsgaard and Theo Peter. What makes it even more impressive is that they were competing in the senior category – huge respect!
Formula Windsurfing is definitely not a sport for the physically weak. It requires strength, endurance and many hours of hard work on the water. Yet many riders stay in the fleet for years, pushing their limits simply because they love the sport.
And looking back to 2005 in Melbourne, legends stood on the podium: Antoine Albeau, Wojtek Brzozowski – the first Formula Windsurfing World Champion – and Gonzalo Costa Hoevel.
Big fleets, strong athletes and pure passion for windsurfing. That’s Formula Windsurfing.
