2.) Official website of the German Windsurf Cup is launched:

For the first time ever the German Windsurf Cup has an own dedicated website. www.windsurfcup.de is online since a few weeks and has already developed into one of the main platforms for information about the German and international competition scene. In the next days and weeks the profiles of competitors and the media area will be added but the online registration is working already. The website is published in German but you will probably be able to find out the important infos. Competitors from foreign countries are not only allowed but very welcome at the German regattas. 4.) Notice of Race for the Windsurfing Euro-Cup Malcesine/Lake Garda (Italy) online:

The Notice of Race for the Windsurfing Euro-Cup Malcesine/Lake Garda (Italy) is online. Last year the EC Malcesine was the second stop of the leading continental competition series. This year it is tour stop number 2. With over 100 competitors in 2002 Malcesine is one of the “most wanted regattas” of the EC tour. This year the competition is not only again one of the highlights of the Euro-Cup but additionally selected as one of the seven tour stops for the Formula Windsurfing Women Cup by the female competitors. Additionally the regatta is giving points towards the annual ranking list of the German Windsurf Cup which will make the regatta very attractive for German competitors. To summarize: Early registration is highly recommended in order to ensure a save starting slot in the competition. The Notice of Race and the online registration can be found at the official Windsurfing Euro-Cup website www.euro-cup.org .

5.) Less Euro-Cup events needed for annual ranking list:

Almost 300 different competitors took part in the various Windsurfing Euro-Cup regattas 2002. Of course we have received many requests, ideas and recommendations. Many of them have been integrated already during last years tour.

One of the greatest concern from competitors of all levels was the high number of events that need to be attended in order to reach an appropriate result in the annual ranking list. This does not only effect the “amateur racers and weekend warriors” who have to arrange their windsurfing competitions with work, study, school, family etc. but also the top level competitors have problems to follow the overwhelming obligations of national competitions, testing, international championships and perhaps even PWA competitions and at the same time take part in the Windsurfing Euro-Cups. For the 2003 season the calculation for the annual ranking list has been optimized: Now a maximum of five results can be included in the EC annual ranking list. Additionally discards are included earlier. The first discard is already available after three races, the second after five. You can find the complete table in the General Rules in the “rules section” at www.euro-cup.org . We expect a further increase of the attraction of the series for the competitors and many super close exciting decisions in the annual ranking list.

6.) Four Windsurfing Euro-Cups selected for the FW Women Cup 2003:

The official calendar for the Formula Windsurfing Women Cup 2003 has been presented. The series consists again out of seven regattas. For the first time an event outside Europe is included in the women tour. Again the regattas of the windsurfing Euro-Cup play a dominant role as four events have been selected for the FW Women Cup.
