Yyteri Surf Week ...

Legendary Yyteri Surf Week gathered once again together "board" enthusiasts to the Surf Center of Finnish Boardsailing Association.
Constantly changing weather conditions didn’t slow down the action as the wind served good surfing amazingly many days in a row!

From Friday 27th to Sunday 29th the Yyteri Bay was filled with Raceboards and Formula boards as it was time for the 2nd Ranking Event of the season. Altogether 28 competitors entered the event, 9 in Raceboard and 19 in Formula.

On Friday 27th July the wind let us wait for it but later in the afternoon we got good 3 starts. Antti Lipasti (Zagrze Team) came from Poland to visit us and show how the races shall be sailed. He won all 3 starts with no hesitation. The 2nd in all 3 starts was a young gun Joel GrĂśnqvist (Kallvik Surf). These two guys gave the rest of the fleet a lot to think about.

Saturday’s racing got a slow start. The weather was hot and sunny and the wind didn’t seem to pick up at all. Formulas tried to start but due to poor wind conditions the start was abandoned

On Sunday 29th July the last day of the competition started in favour of good winds. Formula's had 2 starts.
