2011 Formula Windsurfing European championship will be in Liepaja, Latvia!

We are proud to announce that we have signed agreement with IWA regarding European Championship to be held in Liepaja, Latvia from August 15 – 21. This is planned to be major event not only for European Formula racers, but also windsurfers from other continents, who want to take part in this event. Whole August will have plenty windsurfing events in the Baltics and Scandinavia for those, who want to race or spend summer holidays; just before Europeans, from August 12 – 15, in the same place there will be Neil Pryde Baltic Cup in Formula and and Baltic Sea Cup for Bic, RSX and Raceboard classes. In the following week after Europeans, from August 26 – 28, there will final 2011 Neil Pryde Baltic Cup event in Tallinn, Estonia. Followed by FW Junior, Youth and Master World Championship in Skive, Denmark.

The European Championship events committee, together with Latvian Yachting Union, City of Liepaja Council and sponsors already have started the preparation. The event will take place in main beach in Liepaja, the same place where 2010 Raceboard Championship successfully took place. City Liepaja is 220 km from Riga, capital of Latvia. Official NOR for the Formula European championship will be published later, as well as information for accommodation, travel and airline details.

We are after the Sea Trials at Lake Garda, Starboard Olympic Tender proposal the iFoil has been officially recommended by the Paris 2024 Windsurfer Evaluation Working Party of World Sailing.

Following comprehensive on-water testing and evaluation against the approved criteria, the Working Party recommends the selection of the Starboard iFoil as the equipment for the windsurfer events in 2024.

2024 Men's and Women's Windsurfer sea trials from 29 September to 3 October 2019 at Circolo Surf Torbole on Lake Garda, Italy.

Among the ten events for the Paris 2024 Olympics is Men's and Women's Windsurfing, and a review is underway to determine whether the RS:X equipment, which has served the event since the 2008 Games, will continue beyond Tokyo 2020. World Sailing has received seven tenders by Class Associations and Manufacturers that request consideration to be the selected equipment for Paris 2024.
