With the 2020 European Championships postponed until early February, this time around the Formula Windsurfing Class has synchronized the racing calendar with the Chinese New Year.

We therefore herby start the year of the Ox and look with optimism into the future.

We have things to be optimistic about. First, we go to Puck, Poland, which has always been a venue that has delivered ridiculously good conditions in the past. In Puck we will be able to host the Youth and Masters World Championships and these will take place from the 25th to the 30th of June.

We will have to wait until after the peak summer season for some more action, but the wait will be worth it, with Puerto Sherry Formula Windsurfing Foil European Championships taking place in El Puerto De Santa Maria, Spain from the 27th of September to 2nd of October.

The Sultanate of Oman has been chosen to host the 2021 Asian Windsurfing Championships,

Taking place in Khasab, Musandam, 11th to 16th of October. Conditions are expected to be perfect for sailing with a combination of powerful sea breezes and pleasant waves making for ideal sailing conditions while shining a light on Musandam as one of Oman’s most exciting and unexplored tourist destinations.

For those that could not make it to Azores last week for the 2020 Europeans we hope to have some good news soon with the class and local organizer looking to host the World Championships at the same venue in November. We will announce the event as soon as it is confirmed.

And if that is not enough and you want even more action in Decemeber we will be in Chile where the South American Championships will take place.

The event websites are being launched, and Notices of Race should follow shortly.
