The Formula Windsurfing Foil European Championship 2023 has been awarded to Germany. The most important Formula Windsurfing event besides the World Championship will take place in Heiligenhafen at the Baltc Sea from August 24th to 27th 2023. After five years the International Formula Windsurfing Class returns to Germany for an International Championship. „We feel honored and grateful that the International Formula Windsurfing Class has awarded the European Championships 2023 to Choppy Water. We have already organized numerous international FW Championships in Germany but this will be the first one after the COVID pandemic. And we will also have a premiere with a new venue for Windsurfing. So we are excited and thrilled to prepare this European Championship in Heiligenhafen“ says Matthias Regber from Choppy Water who are organizing the event. „The Formula Windsurfing Class is delighted to return to Germany again. We have enjoyed some of the most exciting FW class championships there and we are convinced that Choppy Water will again deliver a perfect event. It is important to have a major event in in the middle of Europe again as we expect that this may attract many riders from Scandinavia, Poland and the Baltic countries. The European Championship in Heiligenhafen will invite the whole FW family to meet at an event again!“ says Francesco Zarbo as president of the Formula Windsurfing Class. Venue in the middle of Europe with good connectionsVenue and date for the Formula Windsurfing European Championship were well chosen. Heiligenhafen is a booming tourist resort at the Baltic Sea between Kiel and Fehmarn island. The venue is located in the middle of Europe and easy to reach by car. From Scandinavia the participants can easily drive by car trough Denmark or use ferry connections to Kiel or Puttgarden on Fehmarn island. From Poland the venue can be easily reached by car. And racers planing to come from Finland or the Baltic countries can use ferry connections to Lübeck or Kiel which brings them close to Heiligenhafen without the stress of driving. Competitors arriving by plane may fly to Hamburg or Lübeck which offer various good connections. From the airports it is just short drive of a little over an hour to the European Championship venue. CU all in Heiligenhafen from August 24th to 27th!
