End of the 1st day of racing: Provisional results Wilhelm in first, Gonzalo on 2nd and Jimmy on third. Three races were run on shifty 8 to 15 knots.
Very long upwind-downwind course. Around 55 competitors..more news tomorrow..skippers at 9 am..

The ACBC regatta will take place this comming weekend , fomula rock stars from the USA and the world will battle hard this weekend for the NORTH AMERICAN TITLE , the list of windsurfers include names like Gonzalo (ARG3) , Shurminator (BRA999), Jimmy Diaz (ISV11) , Dave Kashy, Fernando Martinez (US National Champ), Steve Sylvester, Steve Bodner, Ron Kern, Eduardo Owen, Martin Abete, Farrah Hall, Rick Randall , Alex Morales and many more . Manly Sailing Club at Whangaparaoa will be hosting the 2009 National Championship between February 18th- 22nd (5 days)
Yachting NZ have agreed that the event can be recognised as the official FW Nationals; the event is also "open" ( to competitors from outside NZL) and is consequently sanctioned as a Level 3 World Ranking event.

After four days of waiting for the wind, the organisers made the decision to move to a new location for day 5 (Fri 2 Jan).
It was a very brave decision that paid off.....
