After the brilliant weather on Friday the conditions are a little bit mixed today. In the morning we had fog. But it cleared when the Ora picked up before noon. Still new competitors are coming. Meanwhile we have over 100 who have done the inscription. Others are preparing their stuff: Checking fins, changing battens, trimming the rigg. Nonstop the racers are going to the water for short tests. Its really an incredible atmosphere as everybody is focussed and concentrated but at the same time enthusiastic as the tension of all the preparations through the year can be released soon.

Nobody is able to announce a clear favourite for the triumph at the first Windsurfing Euro-Cup 2002 as not only the equipment seems to be quite levelled out but also the number of competitors who are preparing very professional for the events has increased. Only the races will be able to show some or even one of the boards has an advantage over the others and Neil Pryde and Gaastra have strong fighters in the arena now with North Sails, YES and Gun Sails who have learned a lot in the past and may give the established Formula brands a hard time this year.

Sunday morning is the last chance for the competitors to register. And the final entry list will be available before noon. We will publish it asap. The first start is announced at 12:30. The girls will probably be the first to be send out on the water. The big fleet of the men will follow a few minutes later. If the wind plays the game we expect the first result at about 13:30. So watch out for the first showdown of the season!
