Portuguesse Open Championship 2012

1. RULES
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.

2. VENUE
2.1. Latitude 41° 40' 59.37" N; Longitude 8°49' 58.62" W

3. ELEGIBILITY AND ENTRIES
3.1. The regatta is open to all boards of the Formula Windsurfing class.
3.2. A minimum of 6 windsurfing boards entered in the Formula Windsurfing class are required to validate the Championship.
3.3. The Entry Form must be submitted by 15nd July 2012. The entry can be sent by email, to the organizer Associação Portuguesa de Windsurfing – vchaveca@allgav-it.pt .

3.5. The payment of the entry Fees can be made at registration , on day 1 of the event (20 of July 2012), till 13h00m.
3.6. Each competitor must sign personally the Registration Form at the Race Office from 10.00 to 13.00 on 20 July of 2012.
3.7. Boards should confirm personally their entry, presenting their identity cards, sailing licences and boat/personal insurance, at the race office of Iate Clube de Viana.

4. FEES
4.1. The following entry fees are required:

4.2. The Organising Authority reserves the right to accept entries after the established deadline. These entries may have to pay an increased entry fee (The fee will be 50 Euros)

5.2. 12 races will be sailed.
5.3. On the last day of the event, there will be no warning signals after 17 hours.
5.4. To validate the event, a minimum of 4 races must be completed.

6. MEASUREMENTS
Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate. In addiction, equipment inspections can be done, at any time, by the chief measurer of the race committee.

7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available after 10 am on the 20st of July, at Iate Clube de Viana.

8. SUPPORT BOATS
Support boats should be registered at the club secretariat and must permanently display identification. This identification should be a flag of the club or a white flag with the designation of the club and their national flags.

9. RADIO COMMUNICATIONS
Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

12. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

13. INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover requested by law per event or the equivalent.
