Dutch Championships Formula Windsurfing 12-13 June 2004
by Wendy Littel

The event took place in Almere Muiderzand and was the third in a row of five events. Earlier we had an event with 9 races in one weekend, this weekend(June 12th/13th) we ended up with 5. Great racing conditions made it possible for Ben van der Steen (Exocet/Neilpryde) to stay in top. This weekend he managed to win two races and two times he became second. During the final race on Sunday he finished fifth.

We have had great battle between the numbers two, three, four, five and six. Ramses Landman (AHD/Gaastra) managed to win this battle from his rivals Ron Ruiter (Fanatic/Gaastra), Adri Keet (Fanatic/Neilpryde), Dennis Littel (Kinetic/Gaastra) and Markus Bouman (Mistral/Neilpryde) and became second. Our European Master Champion Ron Ruiter showed us he is still there winning one race and finishing in top three. Adri Keet just missed the bridge with only one point behind. Dennis Littel was able to win a race as well which means he is still in the game. Unfortunately Roy van Koolwijk (Fanatic/Windwing) missed his overwhelming condition he showed earlier during the Dutch Championships three weeks ago. There he managed to finish on second position having a strong battle with Ben van der Steen.

For the overall results this means that Ben van der Steen is still on the lead with 17 points out of 14 races. Ramses Landman follows on second position with 38, Roy van Koolwijk claims third position with 40 points, with Ron Ruiter just 2,3 points behind. Fifth position is for Adri Keet.

Next event will take place on the 3rd and 4th of July. This time we will settle in Hargen aan Zee, in the North of Holland.
