Hi everybody,
My name is Fabio Melo, BRA 74. I start sailing when i got back from the States, after one year studying, and got in to College in Fortaleza/BRA in july of 2001. I always liked sports, used to play tennis before, and was looking for something fun to do. My two old brothers windsurf, so I figured was a good sport to join. I like better the racing part, waves are nice, but race is the one I like the most. Tuning, the "cold " you feel before starts, going fast, I love these things. I started with Formula, and as I was bless to live in Fortaleza, I had the chance to improve fast, go to the water every day with a lot of good guys to show me the way. In my town Formula is like a disease, if you know what a mean. Everybody has to work, but at 11:30AM, we don't even have to call each other, everybody goes to the club and between 12 and 14:00 we windsurf, and as normal, nobody likes to lose and our level here has increased a lot on those last years because our way of life.

Besides windsurf I like to fish, every year that i can I go with my dad and brother to Amazon, fantastic trip.

2007 has been my best year so far, I got the 3rd place in FW Grand Prix of Portimao, 3rd place in the Brazilian Grand Prix, 1st of the Brazilians.
